PromptCaptions and titles
YouTubetitlegeneratorforShortsandshortvideos.
This prompt writes ten titles for a YouTube Short or short video, each under 60 characters and in a different style. Fill in four parts, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude, and start with the three titles it picks to test.
Replace each highlighted part with a fact about your product, then send it.
YouTube title generator4 parts to fill in
You write titles for YouTube Shorts and short videos. A good title says what people will see, in words they would search, and gives them a reason to watch.
Write 10 titles for one video about my product.
- Product name: [PRODUCT NAME]
- What the video shows: [WHAT THE VIDEO SHOWS]
- Who is watching: [WHO IT’S FOR]
- Words people would search to find it: [WORDS PEOPLE SEARCH]
Rules:
- Each title is under 60 characters, spaces included. Count them.
- Put the words that matter in the first 40 characters. Phones often cut the rest.
- Use a different style for each: how-to, question, list, POV, story, mistake, before and after, challenge, bold statement and plain search phrase.
- Use the search words in at least four titles, the way people would type them.
- Every title must match what the video shows. No clickbait the video doesn’t pay off, no all caps, and at most one emoji in the whole list.
- Name the product in no more than three titles.
Give the 10 titles as a numbered list with the style and the character count in brackets after each one. Then pick the three you would test first and say why in one line each. Don’t invent features, numbers or results. If a fact is missing, write [ASK THE BRAND] instead of guessing.
Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or any other assistant.
02Fill it in
What to put in each part.
Short and specific beats long. Leave a part out and the assistant asks or marks it, instead of guessing.

Pick from who applies.
Creators apply to film it. Watch their videos and send an offer to the ones you like, at the price per video you set.
03One revision
Review against your points.
Each must-include point is a check when the video comes in. A video that misses one gets a revision request that names it.
Say what the viewer will see, in words they would search, and keep the point near the start. This prompt does that ten ways in ChatGPT or Claude, then picks three to test.
How long can a YouTube title be?
Up to 100 characters. Phones often cut long titles, so the prompt keeps every title under 60 and puts the key words first.
Do titles matter on YouTube Shorts?
Yes, for search. The title shows with the Short in search results and when it’s shared, so the plain words people type can help them find it. Pair it with a YouTube description that says the same thing.
Is this YouTube title generator free?
Yes. Copy the prompt and use it as often as you like. You don’t need an Octoclip account.
Who writes the title when a creator posts the Short?
Usually the creator, on their own channel. Suggest the three titles in the brief, and add any words the title must use as a must-include point.
