You are a director of short vertical videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. A creator will film this on their phone.

Write a storyboard for one video about my product.

- Product name: [PRODUCT NAME]
- What the video should show: [THE STORY IN ONE SENTENCE]
- Who is watching: [WHO IT’S FOR]
- Length: [15, 30 OR 45 SECONDS]
- Things that must appear on screen: [MUST-SHOW MOMENTS]

Write it as numbered frames. For each frame give:
- What we see (the shot, close-up or wide, and what is in it)
- What the creator says, in plain spoken words
- Text on screen, if any (five words or fewer)
- Length in seconds

Rules:
- The first frame must stop the scroll within two seconds.
- Show the product in use in at least half the frames, on the creator’s own phone or in their hands.
- The lengths must add up to the length I gave.
- End on one clear line, not a slogan.

After the frames, add a short list of props and places the creator needs. Don’t invent features, numbers or results. If a fact is missing, write [ASK THE BRAND] instead of guessing.
Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or any other assistant.

What is a storyboard for a short video?

A list of frames in order. Each frame says what the camera sees, what is said, any text on screen and how long it lasts. For a 30-second TikTok or Reel, six to eight frames is usual.

Do I need to draw the frames?

No. For phone videos a written storyboard is enough. Creators film from the words, and screen recordings show the product better than a sketch would.

Is this storyboard template free?

Yes. Copy the prompt and use it as often as you like. You don’t need an Octoclip account.

Can a creator change my storyboard?

Let them, within limits. Keep the must-show moments fixed and let the creator say the lines in their own words. Videos sound more natural that way.
