Spark Ads run a TikTok creator’s own post as your ad, with their handle on it. First you need the post. Post a job, creators apply, and you pay a fixed price for each approved creator post, with ad rights in the contract.
Spark Ads are TikTok ads that run a creator’s own post from the creator’s account, with their handle, their caption and their comments. The creator gives permission by sending you a code for that post. Brands use Spark Ads because the ad looks like the post it is, and people who tap it land on a real creator’s profile.
Octoclip is
A marketplace where brands hire TikTok creators for posts they can run as Spark Ads, at a fixed price.
Octoclip is not
An ads manager, an agency or a pay-per-view clipping tool. You run the ads in your own TikTok Ads Manager.
02The guide
How to run Spark Ads on TikTok.
Five steps, from hiring the creator to the ad in your account.
01
Hire a creator for a creator post
Post a job on Octoclip, say in the brief that the post will be run as an ad, and choose from the TikTok creators who apply.
02
Approve the video
Check it against your must-include points. The creator publishes it on their own account, where it stays live.
03
Get the creator’s permission
The creator turns on ad authorisation for the post in the TikTok app and sends you its Spark Ads code. Ask for it in the brief so it is agreed before filming.
04
Set up the ad in your ads account
In TikTok Ads Manager, choose to use another account’s post, paste the code and pick the creator’s video instead of uploading a file.
05
Put budget behind what holds attention
Run several creators’ posts side by side, keep the ones people watch, and send those creators your next brief. TikTok ads cost helps you plan the spend.
03Two ways to work
Creator posts for Spark Ads, UGC videos for your own ads.
Each job is one type. You set the price per video, and creators see it before they apply.

04How it works
How to get creator posts for your ads.
Free until you hire. You only pay when a creator accepts.
01Free
Post a job
Type, price per video, volume, deadline and the brief, with the must-include points every video is checked against.
02Free
Review applicants
Creators apply with a note. You see their profile, connected account and record on Octoclip.
03Free
Send offers
The contract is generated from your job’s terms. Hire one creator or twenty from the same brief.
04
Hire and approve
When a creator accepts, you pay and they start. You approve every video before the creator is paid.
If the creator did not expect their post to become an ad, you may not get the code. Put it in the brief.
No ad rights in writing
A message saying “sure” is not a licence. On Octoclip the right to run approved content as paid ads is in the contract.
Running one post
One post gives you nothing to compare. Hire several creators on the same brief and let the ads account show you which to keep.
Letting the post disappear
An ad built on a post stops if the post is deleted. Creator posts on Octoclip stay live for the period set in the contract.

What is the difference between Spark Ads and partnership ads?
The platform. Spark Ads are TikTok’s way of running a creator’s post as an ad. Partnership ads are Meta’s, for Instagram and Facebook. Both show the creator’s handle and both need the creator’s permission. See Meta partnership ads.
How do I get a Spark Ads code from a creator?
The creator generates it in the TikTok app for the post you want to promote and sends it to you. Say in your Octoclip brief that you will need it, so every creator who applies has agreed.
What is whitelisting?
Whitelisting is the older name for running ads through a creator’s account. Spark Ads are TikTok’s own version of it, with the creator’s permission built in.
Do I have the right to run a creator’s post as an ad?
On Octoclip, yes. The contract both sides accept lets you use approved content in paid ads, including Spark Ads and partnership ads.
How much does a creator post cost?
Posting a job, reviewing applicants and sending offers are free. You set a fixed price per video and pay only when a creator accepts your offer. The full amount is shown before you send the offer.
Do Spark Ads perform better than normal ads?
Results differ by product and audience, which is why brands run several creators’ posts side by side. Octoclip does not sell or guarantee downloads, installs or views. You pay a fixed price for each approved video.
When is a creator paid?
Their payment is secured when they accept, before any work starts, and released for each video you approve.
Does Octoclip run the ads for me?
No. You run them in your own TikTok ads account. Octoclip gets you the creator posts, the contract and the payments.
