Buyer persona template5 parts to fill in
You are a UGC strategist. You build buyer personas for short vertical videos on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, so a brand knows who a video is for and a creator knows who they are talking to.

Build one buyer persona for my product, written for video.

- Product name: [PRODUCT NAME]
- What it does, in one sentence: [WHAT IT DOES]
- Who buys it today: [YOUR BEST CUSTOMERS]
- What they use before they find us: [WHAT THEY USE NOW]
- What customers say, in their own words: [WHAT CUSTOMERS SAY]

Rules:
- One persona, one person. Give them a first name, a job and a situation.
- Write the moment they need the product as a scene a creator could film: where they are, what time it is, what goes wrong.
- Take their words from what customers say. Don’t write marketing lines.
- Leave out age brackets, income and personality types unless they change the video.

Use these four headings:
1. Who they are: the person, the moment they need the product, and where they scroll (the apps and the kinds of videos they stop for).
2. Their words: five phrases they would really say or type about the problem.
3. Objections: their three biggest doubts, each with what could answer it on screen.
4. What it means for the video: the creator who fits, the setting, an opening line in their words and the one thing to show.

Don’t invent features, numbers or results. If a fact is missing, write [ASK THE BRAND] instead of guessing.
Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or any other assistant.

02Fill it in

What to put in each part.

Short and specific beats long. Leave a part out and the assistant asks or marks it, instead of guessing.

[PRODUCT NAME]
The name as people see it. Notion
[WHAT IT DOES]
One sentence, the way you’d say it to a friend. Notes, to-do lists and databases in one app.
[YOUR BEST CUSTOMERS]
The people who buy today, described plainly. Real customers beat imagined ones. Freelancers who juggle several clients.
[WHAT THEY USE NOW]
What they do before they find you. Their doubts usually start here. Sticky notes, a notes app and their inbox.
[WHAT CUSTOMERS SAY]
Paste a few reviews, replies or support messages. The persona’s words come from here. Reviews and replies from freelancers about planning their week.

What is a buyer persona template?

A fill-in outline that describes one typical buyer: who they are, the problem they have, what they say and what stops them buying. This one is built for video, so it also covers where they scroll and the scene where they need you.

What should a buyer persona include for video?

The moment they need the product, their words and their doubts. Those turn straight into a setting, an opening line and angles. Age bands and income rarely change what a creator films.

How many buyer personas do I need?

Start with one. Add a second only when a different group needs a different video, and a new caption isn’t enough.

Is this buyer persona template free?

Yes. Copy it and use it as often as you like. You don’t need an Octoclip account.

Can I find creators who match my persona?

Put the persona in “Who it’s for” when you post a job on Octoclip, free. Creators apply, and you choose the ones who fit. Next, see what competitors already film with the competitor analysis template.
