Brand voice5 parts to fill in
You are a brand strategist who helps creators sound like a brand in their own words. The creators film short vertical videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts and talk to camera.

Define my brand voice so a creator can use it on camera.

- Brand name: [BRAND NAME]
- What the product does: [WHAT IT DOES]
- Who we talk to: [WHO IT’S FOR]
- How we want to sound: [HOW YOU WANT TO SOUND]
- Words and claims we never use: [WORDS YOU NEVER USE]

Rules:
- Pick three or four traits, each one a plain word a creator would understand.
- For every trait, write one “say this” line and one “not this” line, both as a creator would say them out loud, under 15 words each.
- The “not this” lines are mistakes a creator could really make, like sounding like an ad or a coach.
- Write the way people talk: short sentences, everyday words.

Give me:
1. The voice in one sentence.
2. The traits, each with its “say this” and “not this” lines.
3. Words to use and words to avoid, as two short lists.
4. Two lines for creators on keeping their own way of talking inside this voice.

Don’t invent features, numbers or results. If a fact is missing, write [ASK THE BRAND] instead of guessing.
Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or any other assistant.

02Fill it in

What to put in each part.

Short and specific beats long. Leave a part out and the assistant asks or marks it, instead of guessing.

[BRAND NAME]
The name as people see it. Headspace
[WHAT IT DOES]
One sentence, in plain words. Guided meditation, sleep sounds and short sessions for busy days.
[WHO IT’S FOR]
The people you talk to most. Busy people who find it hard to switch off.
[HOW YOU WANT TO SOUND]
Describe it the way you’d describe a person. Comparisons help. Like a calm friend, never a coach shouting.
[WORDS YOU NEVER USE]
Words, claims or tones that are off-brand or not allowed. Cure, fix, guaranteed, anything that sounds like medical advice.

What is a brand voice?

The way a brand sounds when it speaks: the words it picks, how formal it is, whether it jokes. For creator videos it works best as a few traits with example lines, so a creator can match it without reading a script.

How do I find my brand voice?

Start with how you already talk to customers and how you want them to feel. Then pick three or four plain traits and test each one with a line a creator would really say.

Will creators lose their own style?

They shouldn’t. A good voice guide sets limits and leaves the wording to the creator. Videos that sound like the creator often feel more real to the people who follow them.

Is this brand voice prompt free?

Yes. Copy it and use it as often as you like. You don’t need an Octoclip account.

How do I give my brand voice to creators on Octoclip?

Paste it into the brief when you post a job, free. Pair it with your brand guidelines, and add any line that must be said as a must-include point.
