PromptAds
Headlinegeneratorforvideoads.
This prompt is a headline generator for video ads: ten headlines for the ad and the text on screen in the first seconds, each in a different style and under your character limit. Fill in five parts, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude, and test the three it picks first.
Replace each highlighted part with a fact about your product, then send it.
Headline generator5 parts to fill in
You write headlines for short video ads on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube: the headline that runs with the ad, and the text on screen in the first two seconds of the video. A creator films the video on their phone.
Write 10 headlines for my video ad.
- Product name: [PRODUCT NAME]
- Who will see the ad: [WHO IT’S FOR]
- What the video shows: [WHAT THE VIDEO SHOWS]
- The one thing the viewer should take away: [THE ONE MESSAGE]
- Character limit, spaces included: [CHARACTER LIMIT]
Rules:
- No headline goes over the character limit. Count the characters, spaces included.
- Use a different style for each: question, how-to, number, POV, before and after, problem, benefit, quote from the creator, confession, command.
- Each one makes sense with the sound off and matches what the video shows.
- Plain words, the way people talk. No exclamation marks, no all caps, no clickbait.
- Name the product in no more than three of them.
Give the 10 headlines as a numbered list, with the style and the character count in brackets after each one. Then pick three to test first: one for the ad headline and two for the text on screen, with one line on why. Don’t invent features, numbers or results. If a fact is missing, write [ASK THE BRAND] instead of guessing.
Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or any other assistant.
02Fill it in
What to put in each part.
Short and specific beats long. Leave a part out and the assistant asks or marks it, instead of guessing.
[PRODUCT NAME]
The name as people see it. Headspace
[WHO IT’S FOR]
The audience the ad is shown to. One kind of person. Busy people who say they have no time to meditate.
[WHAT THE VIDEO SHOWS]
What happens on screen, in a sentence. Every headline has to match it. A creator doing a short guided session at her desk at lunch.
[THE ONE MESSAGE]
One sentence. If you have two messages, run the prompt twice. A guided session fits into a few minutes of a busy day.
[CHARACTER LIMIT]
The limit your ad platform shows. If you’re not sure, 40 is short enough to read on a phone. 40 characters

Test first
–7 · Ad headline. It says the message in plain words.
–4 · Text on screen. It matches the first shot: eyes closed at the desk.
–8 · Text on screen. It sounds like the creator, so the ad reads like a post.
The answer changes a little each time you run the prompt. Check it against your product before you post it.

03One revision
Review against your points.
Each must-include point is a check when the video comes in. A video that misses one gets a revision request that names it.
A tool that writes many headlines at once so you can pick and test the best ones. This one is a free prompt for ChatGPT or Claude, made for video ads: the headline that runs with the ad and the text on screen in the first seconds.
How long should a video ad headline be?
Short enough to read in a second or two. Long headlines get cut off on small screens, so put the limit from your ad platform in the prompt and the assistant counts for you.
What’s the difference between the ad headline and the text on screen?
The ad headline runs next to the video, above or below it depending on the platform. The text on screen is part of the video itself and works with the sound off. This prompt writes both from one list.
Is this headline generator free?
Yes. Copy it and use it as often as you like. You don’t need an Octoclip account.
Who adds the text on screen, me or the creator?
Either. On Octoclip, put the headline in the job’s must-include points and the creator adds it when editing, or ask for the video without text and add it yourself. Each must-include point is checked when the video comes in.
