01In short

What is TikTok influencer marketing?

TikTok influencer marketing means paying TikTok creators to post about your product on their own accounts. The video reaches the people who already follow them and anyone TikTok shows it to. Brands use it because viewers trust a creator they know more than an ad, and because a post can be run as an ad afterwards.

Octoclip is
A marketplace where brands post jobs and hire TikTok creators directly, at a fixed price per video.
Octoclip is not
An agency, an influencer database or a pay-per-view clipping tool.

02The guide

How to run a TikTok influencer campaign.

Five steps, from the brief to the posts you put ad budget behind.

  1. Pick one thing to show

TikTok rewards a clear idea in the first seconds. Choose the one moment of your product a creator can show on a phone.

  2. Write the brief

Give the opening line, the points that must be on screen and what to avoid. Leave the rest to the creator, who knows what their followers watch.

Anatomy of a UGC ad brief

Five parts a creator can film from.

    1. 1
One momentThe single thing the ad shows, clear in ten seconds.
    2. 2
The opening lineHow the video starts. The rest of the wording is the creator’s.
    3. 3
Must-include pointsWhat has to be on screen. Each video is checked against them.
    4. 4
What to avoidAnything the video must not show or say.
    5. 5
Price per videoYou set it, and creators see it before they apply.
An example brief for an app install ad. On Octoclip every job has a price per video and at least two must-include points.
  3. Post the job and let creators apply

Set the price per video and a minimum follower count. You choose from TikTok creators who want the work.

  4. Approve each video

Check every video against your must-include points before the creator is paid. Posts stay live on their account.

  5. Run the best posts as Spark Ads

A creator’s post can become your ad, with their handle on it: see TikTok Spark Ads. The right to do that is in every Octoclip contract.

03Two ways to work

Creator posts or UGC videos: which do you need on TikTok?

Each job is one type. You set the price per video, and creators see it before they apply.

Creator post

Job type

The creator publishes on their own TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, to their own audience. You get the live post to repost and run as an ad.

Where it lives

UGC video

Job type

The creator sends you the file. You publish it on your own accounts, on your site and in your ads.

05Ideas to brief

TikTok video ideas to brief.

Four formats brands ask TikTok creators for most. Pick one when you post a job, or write your own.

  • Unboxing

    Opening it on camera

Out of the box and straight into use, with the creator’s first reaction.

  • Day in my life

The product in a real day

A normal day with your product in it, filmed the way the creator always films.

  • How-to

    Three steps in thirty seconds

A quick tutorial that shows exactly what your product does.

  • Before and after

    With it and without it

The same task twice, so the difference is on screen.

08Avoid these

Four mistakes brands make on TikTok.

  • Making it look like an ad

A polished brand film gets scrolled past. A creator talking to camera in their own room does not.

  • Paying for views

Views depend on the algorithm. A fixed price per approved video keeps your cost known and the deal fair to the creator.

  • Betting on one creator

One post tells you little. Several creators on the same brief show you which opening and which face to repeat.

  • Forgetting the ad rights

If you want to run a post as a Spark Ad, that right has to be agreed. On Octoclip it is in every contract.

How much does TikTok influencer marketing cost?

Posting a job, reviewing applicants and sending offers are free. You set a fixed price per video and pay only when a creator accepts your offer. The full amount is shown before you send the offer.

How do I find TikTok influencers for my brand?

Post a job for TikTok with your price per video and a minimum follower count. TikTok creators who fit apply to you, and you choose from their profiles and recent videos.

Is Octoclip an alternative to TikTok Creator Marketplace?

Yes. TikTok’s Creator Marketplace is now part of TikTok One, where brands search for creators and invite them. On Octoclip creators apply to your job at a fixed price, the contract and payment are handled for you, and you can post jobs for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts too. See the TikTok Creator Marketplace guide.

Can I run a creator’s TikTok as a Spark Ad?

Yes. The contract both sides accept lets you use approved content in paid ads, including Spark Ads and partnership ads. Ask for the ad code or approval in your brief so the creator knows before they apply.

Do TikTok creators need a lot of followers?

That is your choice, and many brands start with micro influencers. You can set a minimum follower count on a creator post job. For UGC videos, which you publish yourself, followers do not matter.

Will TikTok influencer marketing make my video go viral?

Nobody can promise that. What you control is the brief, the creators you choose and how many you hire. For the ad budget, see TikTok ads cost. Octoclip does not sell or guarantee downloads, installs or views. You pay a fixed price for each approved video.

When is a creator paid?

Their payment is secured when they accept, before any work starts, and released for each video you approve.

Is Octoclip a TikTok marketing agency?

No. You choose and hire creators directly. Octoclip runs the jobs, contracts, approvals and payments in between.
