PromptIdeas and planning
ContentideasforTikTok,ReelsandShorts.
This prompt sets three or four content pillars for your brand, then four video ideas under each for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Fill in five parts, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude, and film the three ideas it picks first.
Replace each highlighted part with a fact about your product, then send it.
Content ideas5 parts to fill in
You are a content strategist for brands that post short vertical videos on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Creators film the videos on their own phones.
Plan content ideas for my brand. Start with content pillars, then give video ideas under each one.
- Product name: [PRODUCT NAME]
- What it does: [WHAT IT DOES]
- Who we want to reach: [WHO IT’S FOR]
- What they care about besides our product: [THEIR INTERESTS]
- Where we post: [TIKTOK, REELS, SHORTS OR ALL THREE]
First, give 3 or 4 content pillars. A pillar is a theme we can post about every week. For each one give a name of three words or fewer and one line on why our audience cares about it.
Then give 4 video ideas under each pillar. For each idea give:
- A title of five words or fewer
- The format: tutorial, list, POV, day in the life, before and after, reaction or storytime
- The opening line for the first two seconds
- If we post on more than one platform, the one it suits best
Rules:
- At least two pillars come from the audience’s life, where the product is used but isn’t the topic.
- At most one pillar is about the product itself.
- Each idea works in 15 to 45 seconds with one person and a phone, and shows the product in use.
- Don’t use the same format twice in a row.
End with the three ideas to film first, each from a different pillar, and one line on why. Don’t invent features, numbers or results. If a fact is missing, write [ASK THE BRAND] instead of guessing.
Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or any other assistant.
02Fill it in
What to put in each part.
Short and specific beats long. Leave a part out and the assistant asks or marks it, instead of guessing.
[PRODUCT NAME]
The name as people see it. Notion
[WHAT IT DOES]
One sentence. Pages, to-do lists and databases for notes, plans and projects.
[WHO IT’S FOR]
One kind of person, not everyone. University students who plan their own week.
[THEIR INTERESTS]
Topics they’d follow even without your product. Most of your pillars come from here. Study habits, side projects, planning the week.
[TIKTOK, REELS, SHORTS OR ALL THREE]
Where the videos go. Pick one if you’re just starting. All three
03Example output
What you get back.
The prompt filled in for Notion, the notes and planning app, and the pillars and ideas it returned.

Pick three or four themes your audience cares about, called content pillars, then list video ideas under each. You never start from a blank page, and every idea still fits your brand. The prompt does both steps.
What are content pillars?
The few themes a brand posts about again and again. For a planning app they could be study habits, Sunday planning and side projects, plus one pillar about the product itself.
How many content ideas do I need?
Enough for a month. Sixteen ideas across four pillars is four weeks at four videos a week. Put them in a content calendar to plan what gets filmed, and when.
Who should film the ideas?
Creators, for most of them. A real person using the product on their own phone fits TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Post a job on Octoclip free, give each idea its own angle, and pick from the creators who apply.
